- Cat reports: your name, contact details, location information, and description of the cat

- Cat naming: the name you choose and the name you provide for public display
2.2 Payment information
We do not store your full card details. Payments are handled directly by Stripe and PayPal, which have their own privacy policies. We receive confirmation of payment and limited transaction metadata.
2.3 Automatically collected information
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may collect basic server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. We do not use analytics tracking cookies or third-party advertising on this website.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your enquiries and contact form submissions
- To process donations and sponsorship payments
- To follow up on cat sightings and reports
- To display your name publicly in connection with cat sponsorships, leaderboard listings, or naming activities (where you have consented or submitted that name)
- To manage and improve our cat welfare operations
- To comply with any legal obligations
4. Public Display of Names
When you sponsor a cat, rename a cat, or lock a cat's name, the name you provide may be displayed publicly on this website (e.g. "Sponsored by Jane Smith" or "Renamed by Alex"). By submitting your name through these features, you consent to this public display. If you wish your name to be removed, please contact us at hello@kittyrescue.nz.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information with:
- Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) to complete transactions
- Cloudflare for hosting and infrastructure
- Volunteers who need your information to follow up on cat reports or enquiries
- Authorities if required by law
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, and in accordance with any legal requirements. Contact form submissions and cat reports are retained for up to 2 years. Donation and payment records are retained for 7 years for financial record-keeping purposes.

8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. Our website uses HTTPS encryption. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

This website uses a strictly necessary session cookie for the admin area only. We do not use marketing, analytics, or tracking cookies.
