Report a Feral or Stray Cat
Spotted a cat that needs help? Fill in the form below and we'll get a volunteer to check the area within 48 hours.
Before you report
Feral vs stray?
A feral cat is typically fearful of humans and was likely born outdoors. A stray may approach you or appear domestic but lost. Both are fine to report.
Is the cat injured?
If the cat appears seriously injured or in immediate danger, please also call the SPCA 24/7 line: 0800 SPCA NZ (0800 772 269) as they have emergency resources.
Location helps
The more specific your location, the faster we can respond. Street intersections, nearby landmarks, or a "what3words" address are all very helpful.
Photos help us too
If you can safely take a photo of the cat, it helps us identify whether the cat is already known to us and plan how to approach it.
Wellington coverage
We currently cover all Wellington City suburbs. For cats in the Hutt Valley or Porirua, we may refer your report to partner groups.
